Matthew Williams (General Manager)

Matthew Williams (they, them, theirs) is Baltimore-based nonbinary writer, educator, and interdisciplinary artist working in dance/performance.  They are inspired by the human body as a site for choice, liberation, and a means to be in relationship with place and community.  Matthew helps organize for Move Move Collaborative, an annual movement intensive where artists gather in Baltimore to make a performance by consensus.  Matthew has taught acting at Towson University, community movement research, and nature-based youth education.  They earned a BA in Cultural Studies from Bates College and an  MFA  in Experimental Theatre from Towson University. They’ve been published by Emergency Index, Witchcraft, Hyrsteria, and PotluckMag and presented by Labbodies Performance Art Review,Transmodern Festival, and Baltimore Independent Dance Artists.   

 

Beatrice (Bea) Antonie Martino (Praxispace Coordinator)

Beatrice (Bea) Antonie Martino (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist, space-maker, grief advocate, and facilitator - a weaver of multiple elements and disciplines into a unified whole - all with the aim to warmly embrace and hold space. Bea's creative practice includes dance, performance art, digital collage, video art / projection, immersive installations, writing, and more. Harnessing the delight and curiosity of childlike eyes, Bea seeks to bring warmth, whimsy, and earnest playfulness to all that they do. Bea's academic background includes B.A. degrees with honors in Dance and Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.A. degree from New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study (Artistic Thesis: What Remains: Ritual Spaces for the Contemporary Mourner).
