Spring into Yoga

Take advantage of the buoyant, uplifting energy of the Springtime - step up into your own radiance and strength. Yoga can help clear away the metaphorical cobwebs from mind and body - clearing space, giving you access to your inner wellspring of energy. Put that urge to do some spring cleaning to good use, come cleanse your body and mind.

This ongoing class will be offered free of charge this Sunday only in honor of the gifts of Spring!!

We'll do a vigorous, energizing practice focusing on clearing away toxins and accumulated gunk, and opening the heart to all that's new, fresh, alive...

Sunday Yoga with Donna Bouthillier
KatThis vigorous class is open to all levels of practitioners. Using precise alignment instruction, we find a balance between effort and ease, engagement and expansion. Using a combination of long holds and full flowing movement we align the body, breath, and mind. Join us in some dynamic play! BIO

Donna Bouthillier has been a dedicated student of yoga for 13 years. Last fall she completed an intensive (250+ hour) teacher training in Anusara Yoga. This life- affirming, heart-oriented practice uses an elegant and concise set of biomechanical alignment principles to find a dynamic balance between stability and freedom. Donna’s explorations of the body/mind have taken many forms beyond the practice of yoga. A modern dancer, she has been a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist since 1999. She is also certified in the holistic mind/body therapy, Zero Balancing. Teaching yoga is a great joy for Donna and she aims to infuse her classes with a light-hearted sense of exploration. Donna has a private bodywork and yoga practice in Brooklyn and Manhattan. She is also a member of the Strike Anywhere Performance Ensemble.

Liz Prather
LizLiz Prather/Yogeshwari, is a certified teacher in Vinyasa and Sivananda yoga. These 2 systems of yoga differ greatly and have brought Liz to a place in her practice and teaching that affords her students the athleticism of flowing postures (Vinyasa yoga) as well as the steadiness of mind that is at the heart of Sivananda yoga. With a background of dance and, thus, injuries, Liz is mindful of what truly helps chronic pain and offers students the challenge of breath work, balancing, long holds and guided relaxation to offer a well-rounded Hatha yoga practice. Liz currently teaches in Jersey City at YogaShunya, private lessons in Brooklyn and dances for Brooklyn-based, RedWall Dance Theater.
